just had two front wishbones fitted today with powerflex bushes and the camber has been thrown well out how do you adjust the camber car is an audi s3 1999 apy thanks

forgot to mention the reason i had my wishbones replaced was that one had a big bush on the front and the other had a small bush on the front so they different

the three ball joint holes are slotted... you need to get it front wheel aligned as it will throw the toe out and you will scrub tyres...

Did you undo the ball joint using the 3 nuts attaching to the arm or the single nut attaching the ball joint to the hub carrier?

Then I would advise getting the alignment checked... this is where the camber adjustment is made... if you haven't put these back exactly the same the tracking and camber will be out.. S3/TT/LCR arms have slots to allow for camber adjustment...
One thing of note though with having different sized bushes... the larger ones are voided so will move more under braking... seeing as you have one solid bush on the other side this will potentially give the effect of having a worn bush on the one side and could affect handling or feel under braking and cornering... VAG changed the design as part of an effort to loosen the handling a bit (early TT's were finding their way into ditches backwards) tbh you should have matched arms or at the very least try and poly bush the fronts so they become a little more predictable...

Following the three nuts being disturbed asked tyre shop to adjust the camber but didn't matter what they did with these trying to move the wheel the figure went back to the original value once wheel was grounded. All they were able to adjust was the toe that was out. Tyres no longer seem to squeal but unhappy that camber is not within tolerance. Is there nothing can be done?

I'm being told camber and castor can be adjusted on S3 8L so would I be wasting my money going to Project Nine?

Castor can't be adjusted but the camber can be if it's on the cast arms as it should be.

If camber can be adjusted how is it done, they tried many times with the three bolts loosened off but as soon as weight was back on wheels it went back to original setting which is out of tolerance. I spoke to centre of gravity about it today and they said it can only be done by moving the subframe. Likewise castor.

camber can be adjusted by sliding the ball joints out... there is not a lot of actual adjustment there and getting it equal requires careful positioning of the subframe to centre it up... there is also very little adjustment in the subframe so not much gains to be had caster and camber wise...

You got to give to some of these guys running these 4WA places, the guy insisted the camber could not be adjusted on my S3 whilst standing underneath my car.(that's what the computer told him). I pointed to my shiney stainless steel camber bars, and told him, are you sure?
