Hello,
All new PC build with the following components:
Motherboard
MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard
CPU
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU
MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
PSU
Seasonic Focus GX 750W Power Supply
RAM
DDR5 32GB 2X16GB 7200MHz G SKILL Trident Z5
Case
Fractal Design Torrent Black E-ATX

Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD, 2 TB
I've tried flashing the BIOS now with 3 different memory sticks
Have renamed the file msi.rom etc
Have tried a few different BIOS versions
Continue to get the red/orange lights on motherboard suggesting CPU/DRAM error and can't get past this at all.
Any suggestions? Have watched various "how to" and suggestion videos.

Does the computer can boot and work normally or you can't boot at all?

I only got the board and all these parts at the end of last week, it's never booted.
I got the board understanding that it my need to be flashed for the CPU, but I don't think it accepts the BIOS update, and i'm stuck in a loop of Red/Orange lights on board.

See the instructions:
Also be sure to use proper USB port for flash back function: (marked number 3)

Hi, thanks for your response.
Yes, I've done the steps you've outline now. I've done other things suggested such as resetting the jbat1 and the motherboard battery etc. I'm actually trying again now with a msi.rom file on a USB stick downloaded and attached from another PC "just incase"

Unfortunately no differnce with this latest effort.
A couple of things to note:
The motherboard doesnt restart after applying the update - but the light does stop flashing.
The motherboard also doesnt respond to being powered down by holding the power button, but it does boot on with the button. I've seen other people mention the fact the power doesn't respond to turn off before, I'm not sure if relevant.

Do you pickup correct BIOS file?
Try flashing without memory installed and remove the rest of components.

I selected the most recent BIOS, i've honestly tried about 5-6 different versions at this point!
I did flash without memory installed on this occasion, only CPU is installed

ok, but are they the right one for your PC? Can you link what BIOSes you have tried,
and post S/N of your board?

and have you reinstalled memory before try to do a normal boot?
Or you can't finish flashing?
How long you have waited for flashing?
If still no go:
Remove: CPU, memory, GPU and retry flashing.
Plug and connect only cpu_pwr1 & atx_pwr1.
Then retry flashing.
If still no progress, take board out of PC case placed over cardbox / wooden table,
and try again.

yes, installed in "correct" slots, and actually tried incorrect just incase
i think it finishes, as the flashing stops. I would expect a shut down or restart, or the lights to stop, but they dont.

GPU out already.
I don't mind doing the steps of removing CPU etc and try, but will this truely make a difference? Same with the cardboard box/wooden table vs being in a case - if this might make a difference, I don't mind trying, but I'm also keen in not seating/reseating (potentially damaging CPU) more than I have to perhaps?

It may interfere with bios flashing. Try it

It may have a shorting issue. I won't suggest something if no chance to cause it.

At this point you have to swap parts anyways, since the computer doesn't work.
So it's not extra work, but a necessary steps in any cases.
